Bentley's Bounty in Brinklow, MD

On Sunday, June 2, we have a great opportunity for those who would enjoy a bit of club history, reuniting with long-time club members, viewing some fabulous and not-recently-seen carsAND a chance to acquire some fantastic collectibles.

Our own Roger Bentley has offered to host us at his lovely Tudor home (and 8 car garage) in Brinklow, MD, where we can admire each others' cars (and his) on the ample grounds, tour the garage, and peruse his collections of die castmodel cars, hand built/painted model planes, aviation artwork, and other collectibles such as vinyl records (LPs and 45s).  A sampling is pictured here.

While the original intent of our visit was simply to reconnect with Roger and get to see his home and cars, we learned during our site visit that he is in the midst of identifying items he wishes to bestow upon others.  And WOW, what a collection!  Not only will this serve as great conversation fodder, butsome of our members (and their friends) will revel in the possibility of going home with a treasure. This is a chance for you to ACQUIRE some of these fabulous items, as Roger is downsizing, and is open to offers from members before it all goes to eBay!

In addition to those things, Roger has shared with us his scrapbooks and photos from Straight Eights and other LCCI events past. While he has bestowed them upon us for club archival, we will bring the items back for the event for all to see, along with other club artifacts and giveaways for all to see and nab.

Roger modestly conveyed that while he is open to the idea, he does not want anyone to have the impression that the intent of this is to make a sale:  It was MY idea, not hisbecause I LOVE a rummage sale!  When I saw the multitude of interesting things in his collection, I immediately thought our group would definitely enjoy this, even if just to see and discuss.  For those of you who have been to Roger's home before, you KNOW what I am talking about.

Since there is so much "aero-memorabilia," We are also inviting the National Gay Pilots Association to join us. Wings and Wheels!

Our gathering will include light refreshments, lunch, and beverages.  There is ample parking in Roger's driveway and front yard, and there are lots of indoor and outdoor locations to gather, so this event will definitely be held rain or shine.
